International Overdose Awareness Day is a global event held on the 31st of August
each year. Its Purpose is to raise awareness of overdoses, reduce the stigma of
drug-related deaths and acknowledge the grief felt by families and friends.

We Need To Talk About Overdose
The Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service are holding an open day at
both Osprey House and HADASS on Saturday 31st August from 12-4pm.
This will be a chance for anyone over the age of 18 to come along and find out
what our service offers in terms of support and treatment.
There will be staff available on the day to offer information about:
How to access services
What supports/treatments are available
What community supports are available
What support is available for family/friends
Staff will be available for Naloxone training with our new product - Nyxoid Nasal Spray.
At Osprey House from 2-4pm there will be taster sessions of auricular acupuncture
available delivered by the team from APEX.
We have a new remembrance tree that will be available for people to leave messages
for loved ones.
At both venues refreshments will be available with a warm welcome!
